Igor’s whole life has been enriched with sport activities: handball, basketball, running, gym workout, diving, swimming, cycling, Muay Thai (Thai boxing) and many other secondary activities. Igor loves being active. Not so long ago Igor felt that besides physical activity he began to be interested in spirituality. He makes a great life turnaround and starts learning various meditation techniques, such as Osho Meditation, Mindfulness, Metta Meditation and Rebirthing. Due to a stressful life-style and his job in the corporate world, despite all his sports activities Igor gains a lot of weight (118kg). With great curiosity he regularly starts practicing yoga and meditation. Igor also radically changes his diet that is now based on raw and gluten-free food. He also practices Tibetan Yoga, breathing techniques, and establishes a daily running routine where he runs many kilometres with the faithful escort of his dog. After only one year Igor manages to lose 38 kilograms and is starting to feel really great! The year was 2015. In 2016, Igor meets Sandra Petra Pintarić and starts regularly attending Dharma Yoga classes. The following year, in 2017 he enrols in Divya Yoga School, Teacher Training Programme RYT 200, which he completes in record time as the oldest member of his team. Igor also participated in various workshops and conferences at Divya Yoga Center and other centres, led by well-known senior teachers, such as Shir Shemesh and Yiannis Andritsos. That same year, Igor is also opening his own, Hamsa Yoga Studio in which he collaborated with Sandra’s teachers from previous generations. While teaching classes and leading the studio, Igor intensively studied various yoga-related texts, such as Hatha Yoga Pradipika, Yoga Sutras, Bhagavad Gita and learned about the teachings of well-known yogis, such as Vivekananda, Yogananda, Iyegenar, Sri Dharma Mittra, Osho, Sandhguru, etc. Due to certain circumstances Igor had to close down Hamsa Yoga Studio. However, the experience as a yoga teacher left him with valuable knowledge and experience and a deeper understanding of the meaning of connection, surrendering and trust in life. Sadhana and yogic techniques are becoming integral parts of Igor’s daily life. His path of self-realization becomes simpler with the awareness and conscious application of the rightness of living. In 2017, Igor completed the School for application of Sound massage and Sound Therapy, at Peter Hess Academy together with the Technique of Psychological and Spiritual Development called Deep Peat, by Z.M. Slavinski. Both methods are complementary to yoga and they make Igor extremely fulfilled. Apart from everything mentioned above, Igor’s zest for life does not stop there! He is also interested in Holotropic Breathwork, meditation, Thai Chi, holistic life-style, travel and learning about ancient cultures, playing and learning to play various and new instruments, such as hung drum. He also loves being involved in start-up projects, healthy diets, personal expansion of consciousness, taming his ego, learning about unconditional love and generally work on self-development. „The study of asana is not about mastering posture. It’s about using posture to understand and transform yourself.”– Iyengar “Don’t worry. These poses have nothing to do with meditation or enlightenment.” ~ Sri Dharma Mittra “You are at the end of the beginning, and the beginning of the end. Yoga is the way of God's love” Igor. D.
